Research Projects are projects selected through an open call for proposals, with the aim of supporting initiatives that, through empirical activities, identify how Japan’s unique educational content, methods, and expertise can contribute to solving problems by conducting specific surveys on the needs and current educational issues of partner countries and regions. These initiatives are also required to contribute to the qualitative improvement of Japanese education, such as its internationalization, by utilizing the results of research to the benefit of Japan’s domestic education.
In the five-year period between 2021 and 2025, at least 10 initiatives were selected.
Research Project themes are set each year with respect to the situation at that time.
