EDU-Port Japan is a public-private initiative to disseminate Japanese-style education overseas.
In the field of education, Japan has a lot of potential to contribute to the world. Japan boasts a primary/secondary education system that helps children gain excellent academic skills, develop discipline and good living habits. Japan’s education system features high-quality science and math education, Colleges of Technology known as Kosen, specialized training colleges, a unique system for developing human resources for industry, robust ICT (information and communication technology) training, and a type of special private school known as Juku, among other characteristics.
EDU-Port Japan is a public-private, nationwide initiative to proactively disseminate Japanese-style education overseas by providing a platform from which the public and private sectors collaborate in achieving this objective. The platform is supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and many other organizations including NGOs and private businesses.
EDU-Port Japan consists of the following four programs:
Through the platform, we hold seminars with invited guest speakers and give the participants an opportunity to present information about their businesses or activities.
In the working groups, companies and organizations generate business plans for a specific country of interest and discuss their feasibility.
We plan to hold/join international forums in order to create an opportunity for project participants to collaborate with foreign businesses and government members in the context of education.
EDU-Port Japan will support projects which are expected to achieve successful educational collaboration with international partners.
